Highway Nightmare In Downtown Louisville

On Friday, March 27th, 2026, I was leaving the office I work at around 7PM and headed home after a long day. I was thinking about taking the scenic road home on River Rd, but instead opted to take the highway. The highway just outside of Louisville, KY, is under massive renovations as it’s being widened. All of a sudden I hit what I imagine was a huge pothole and my front driver tire when down to 0lbs of pressure immediately. I pulled as far off the shoulder as I could to avoid fast-coming oncoming traffic. After calling AAA, they put my call at the highest priority. After going through a few companies, AA found the closest one being 2A TOWING AND RECOVERY. They said the wrecker was about 35 minutes away. The driver, who is also the owner – MIGUEL TEJEDA CRISTO – was 35 minutes away according to the AAA tracker and the AAA specialist who had been on the phone with me. Her name was LONDON CRAWFORD – an absolute godsend that spent close to an hour talking to me. The owner of 2A TOWING AND RECOVERY called and then texted me, this is how it went:

MIGUEL TEJEDA CRISTO: Hi Christian I call you from Triple A can you call me please thanks.

CHRISTIAN DUQUE: Hello. I am with AAA no phone. (should have been “on”). Are you close? (AAA tracker said 35 minutes).

MIGUEL TEJDEDA CRISTO: Ok I’m on my way 45 minutes ok.

CHRISTIAN DUQUE: Are you serious? That’s very far away. I’m on the side of the highway. Tracker says 35.

MIGUEL TEJEDA CRISTO: Yes but I”m fueling right now.

CHRISTIAN DUQUE: That’s crazy. So you’re not on your way. Tracker says 32 minutes away and that you’re driving this way. Lol

MIGUEL TEJEDA CRISTO: What you want to do cancel let me know.

CHRISTIAN DUQUE: (I switch to Spanish) Brother speak to me clearly please, I’m in a very dangerous spot.

MIGUEL TEJEDA CRISTO: Call me.

CHRISTIAN DUQUE: I’m letting AAA know what you’re saying. Why are you asking me if I want to cancel?

MIGUEL TEJEDA CRISTO: If you don’t call me I won’t drive to you.

CHRISTIAN DUQUE: I’m on the phone with AAA, I’m the CubanLawyer(dot)com [I said this in case maybe he knew me. I was getting desperate and panicking]. Thanks for your help.

MIGUEL TEJEDA CRISTO: As if you were Trump, call me and we will talk.

CHRISTIAN DUQUE: Don’t worry 2A Towing. Are you the owner?

MIGUEL TEJEDA CRISTO: No I am not worried.

CHRISTIAN DUQUE: I’m going to make you famous.

MIGUEL TEJEDA CRISTO: You are arrogant and disrespectful – you are canceled.

Here is the 1 star review I left for 2A TOWING AND RECOVERY:

The owner of this towing company was dispatched to help me as I hit a major pothole in a construction zone right outside of Louisville and totally tore my tire. I have been a AAA Gold member since 2002. I was on the phone with AAA and he claimed he was on the way, but when I told him the tracker said he was far closer, he said he was actually fueling. I was on the phone with the AAA rep who was keeping me calm. The owner of the company said if I didn’t hang up with AAA and call him, he would cancel me. And that’s ultimately what he did. I was left stranded on the side of the highway in an extremely dangerous place. Thankfully AAA sent me another tow truck which arrived in no time.

I filed a complaint against this company with AAA. I will also be filing a complaint with the BBB and contacting the Department of Transportation and filing a formal complaint against him as well there.

The guy wasn’t driving towards me. He never was. He was fueling and could care less that I was stranded on the side of the road. I was panicking and pleading for him to come help me and told him I couldn’t call him because I was on the phone with AAA. I had provided my exact location by the GPS app. There was no reason for me to call him. And the AAA specialist didn’t tell me to hang up and call him, either. She was very concerned for my safety and as I was telling her what the guy was saying, said she was actively looking for another tow truck.

Mosbys Towing & Transport LLC / JET TOWING Saved The Day!!

Thank GOD AB from JET TOWING came to my aid. He towed me to the nearest gas station. Unfortunately, Hyundai doesn’t sell some cars with a spare tire. Instead they put some kit to repair tires. My tires was torn so badly that wasn’t an option. AB said he’d tow me to Tires Plus in Middletown since I had 100 miles of towing with my AAA membership. I’ve been a gold member for 24 years (since 2002). He said he needed to run into the gas station. I had left home today without my wallet and he offered to get me something. I felt bad asking, but I was distraught. I asked him for a Diet Coke and he got me one. He so kind. We got to talking about his upbringing in West Virginia and he was beyond nice. Between London and Ab, I felt so much more grounded after the nightmare of hitting the pothole, fearing for my safety, and that absolutely horrible experience with MIGUEL TEJEDA CRISTO of 2A TOWING AND RECOVERY.

AB also let me know that the rim was ok, just a minor scratch. He dropped my vehicle off at Tires Plus and my gf arrived to take me home. I am so grateful to JET TOWING and AB. I left 2A TOWING AND RECOVERY a 1 star review. Then I made sure to leave JET TOWING / Mosbys Towing & Transport LLC a 5 star review, along with a picture of AB and myself, and the following review:

“AB was a godsend. He helped me after my car hit a pothole and my tire went totally flat. I had a horrible experience with 2A Towing and Recovery who left me stranded on the side of the road and never came to help me.

Thankfully AB saved the day. He towed me to Tires Plus, got me a Diet Coke (I had left my wallet at home), and just lifted my spirits.

Being stranded on the side of road less than a mile outside of downtown Louisville in a construction zone was petrifying. I’ve been a AAA gold member for 24yrs (since 2002) and I couldn’t be happier with JET TOWING and AB. He was a godsend, an absolute godsend. Thank you so much, brother. God Bless you.”

I posted the same reviews for both towing companies on Google and the BBB. I also filed a complaint with AAA against 2A TOWING AND RECOVERY. I hate doing that, but the central theme of SIGHTS, SOUNDS, FLAVORS is to give honest reviews. And this is as honest as it gets.
