Frederick’s Cafe – Corydon, IN
If you’re ever in Corydon, Indiana, and you want to enjoy a delicious breakfast (or lunch), then I highly recommend Frederick’s Cafe. You couldn’t ask for friendlier staff, better food, or a better value. The cafe is located in the heart of historic downtown Corydon – Indiana’s first state capitol. In addition to its rich history, Corydon is the site of festivals and cool events just a rock’s throw from Louisville, KY. It’s only a mere 27 miles away, but Corydon is very much Hoosier country.
If you do happen to get breakfast – be sure to get the huge pancake. It’s not just huge, but it’s DELICIOUS. It’s been a while since I’ve been so pleasantly surprised by a non-chain breakfast spot. Like I said, Corydon is just 27 miles away from Louisville, so even if you’re not a tourist, you can jump in the car and head over here to mix it up a bit. You won’t be disappointed. That said, the locals love this place and while there’s plenty of seating, I don’t know how long this well-guarded secret will stay secret.
Please tip the wait staff well – they do a phenomenal job!
And one last thing, come ready with a good appetite because you won’t want to leave anything on your plate. I had considered getting a to go box, but everything was so darn good, I couldn’t help but clean my plate!
