Who Is GRU HARBISON?
Gru Harbison is an international man of mystery who lives in the shadows. He gets mobbed wherever he goes in Cambodia and New Jersey. In fact, many folks who frequent the nightclubs in Phnom Penh say Mr. Harbison made his fortune harvesting American license plate numbers. He employs a handful of YouTubers who collect the plates at $1 per plate. As of 2024, Mr. Harbison began paying bonuses of $100 per person who asked his License Plate Grabbers, or LPG’s, anything while conducting their important work. It’s rumored that the American expat in Cambodia enjoys watching the interactions while harvesting the license plate numbers. Some people say he will write each license plate number on a piece of paper that resembles a fortune cookie strip. He then puts all the strips in a mountain on his desk and makes it rain on videos he takes of himself for Myspace and Periscope. This process known as License Plate Tossing generates considerable revenue through a variety of income streams.
That said, many people get very uneasy about having their license plates photographed. This is very understandable as this is very private information. This is why license plates are displayed on the outside of vehicles for all to see. Naturally, many folks in the United States get very hostile when their plates are recorded by LPG’s. License plate numbers in the United States are worth the most to Mr. Harbison. He also pays for plates from Canada; however, Canadian plates are paid at $0.10 USD per plate and the bonus is only $5 per interaction. Apparently, Mr. Harbison finds Canadians very uninteresting. Nonetheless, he pays $100 USD for every 20 video interactions with folks in that underdeveloped country. .
